Conclusion

For those Hikers returning after the passage of time, or non-Hikers visiting for the first time, you may read portions of the threads and think, “What is so special; this group can be just as catty and human as any other?” Yes, of course! This was a group of people with the same frailties and vulnerabilities of any other group. At the same time, a great deal of love went into this group coalescing and traveling together for awhile. That love is what is worth remembering.

Betrayal of trust brackets the existence of Honey Trail. That symmetry does not seem accidental. Betrayal is a soul lesson for most of us to work through. May each one that was touched by these events learn what could be learned from Honey Trail and be at peace.

Monday. Wow, what a spectrum of thought over the weekend ~ State sovereignty to Tingles & targets to Who thrives & who does not to Unions still trying to find hearts & big boy pants to SOTU musical chairs to Network shake up to All the M‘s — Moonbats, Maddow may be a man may be a woman (w is an upside m, don’t ya know?). We went from Head slapping piano players & presidents to, thankfully, Mailboxes and Old Barns to Emma coming out of the closet as Sharon. Wow, we are “brain flexible” to say the least!

Happy Weekend, Trail People! Happy Weekend, Hikers! Happy Weekend, Honeys! Happy Weekend and Welcome, Visitors! (Lurkers, you get to be all the above!)

I am going to be shameless today and ask you to do a little something. (If your comfort zone is to be USO’d and/or brow beaten into submission, I can do that too.) I really, really, oh-pretty-please, really want yesterday’s post Watching the Other Hand to be plastered all over comment boards across the internet. I wish the link everywhere.

Ask not what your country can do for you — ask what you can do for your country.

Oooooh, using a “pull-at-the-heartstrings” quote gives the request some righteousness, ya think? (This would be a good spot for a flag-waving smiley.)

Have a great day! Blessings.

Good Day, Everyone. While away for an extended weekend and separated most of the time from the computer, I made a discovery or two. —-

Discovery one: There appears to be so such thing as a humorous sympathy card. I looked. I really wanted something funny about death and losing a loved one and there just is not such a thing as a funny card about death. Continue reading

Good Morning, Honeys!

Looks like President Obama is taking a page from Sarah Palin’s book, setting forth new policy in an editorial in today’s Wall Street Journal:

Since the the 2008 elections, those of us who have opposed the initiatives of the Obama administration and advocated smaller government and greater personal liberty have been labeled extremists. On this day, the words of Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. remind us that we are in good company:
